State archives do not store personnel documents of liquidated institutions confirming seniority. However, you can ask for information about the storage location of these documents by submitting a request by mail or e-mail. by mail to [email protected] or by calling 8 690 12 992.
You can find more detailed information in the Services / Administrative services / Provision of information about archive activities and stored documents or Issuance of documents confirming legal facts sections of this website. The latter service is provided free of charge only if documents confirming the length of service and/or salary in the institution of the state archive system are requested.The issuance of data on seniority of all other institutions whose documents are stored in state archives is paid according to the approved price list.
Written requests from individuals are answered within 20 working days of their receipt at the institution.
Photographing documents with your own equipment is allowed free of charge in the reading room. Readers, who have submitted a separate request, can use their own photographic devices according to the procedure approved by the head of the Lithuanian Archives of Literature and Art. Images of documents taken by readers may not be used for commercial purposes or transferred to third parties. Digital images intended for distribution, publication, use for exhibition displays must be ordered by the reader from the archive using the document copying and scanning services provided by the archive. Printed copies of images of digital documents made by readers cannot be authenticated.
Yes. General information about archive activities and stored documents is provided free of charge, but more detailed document search services are available for a fee. Service prices are set in the price list of paid services of the State Archives, approved by order of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania.
The document search service can be ordered upon arrival at the Archive or by filling out a free form request and sending it by e-mail. by mail [email protected].
Payment for the services provided by the Lithuanian Archives of Literature and Art can be made by bank transfer to the Archive's bank account. The account number will be given to you by the Archives employee along with the required amount to be paid.
