About us
Lithuanian Archives of Literature and Art is one of the most important institutions protecting and nurturing the documentary heritage of Lithuanian culture and art. The archive stores more than 890 fonds related to the cultural, artistic, literary, musical and historical figures and institutions of the country. Our collection includes documents from the 15th century up to the present day, reflecting both historical and contemporary events of Lithuanian culture and art.
A large part of our archive is dedicated to the 20th century for art and cultural institution fonds and personal archives. Here you will find documents of writers, painters, theater artists, musicians, architects, writers and cultural workers, which reveal their creative path and influence on Lithuanian culture. We also store unique documents from the 15th century until the 21st century documents of operating institutions and developers.
Lithuanian Archives of Literature and Art constantly updates and expands its collections in order to preserve and pass on valuable information about the cultural heritage of our country to future generations.
