The employee performs the following functions:

  • Provides readers with consultations, assistance in selecting documents, issues circulars, files and thematic cards;
  • Registers readers, fills in document registers of files for which he is responsible;
  • Orders copies for readers, encrypts them, does their accounting;
  • Accepts requests for the issuance of documents confirming the facts, prepares and issues official archive documents;
  • Provides information on the basis of archive activity documents in accordance with the procedure established by legal acts;
  • Participates in document cataloging and other information and search tools creation;
  • Participates in the preparation of draft legal acts on the work of the reading room and other issues within the department's competence;
  • Executes the orders of the archive management, pays for the work done.

The employee must meet the following requirements:

  • To know the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and other legal acts regulating civil service, labor relations, information protection and provision;
  • Have a good knowledge of the Law on Documents and Archives of the Republic of Lithuania, other legal acts regulating the management of documents;
  • To have a higher humanitarian education, to know the history of Lithuanian culture, the activities of culture and art, educational institutions and organizations, types and genres of art, representatives of art creators and art scientists, to constantly deepen and update their knowledge;
  • Learn to work independently, choose methods and solutions. Have the skills to work with documents and 3-4 years of work experience;
  • To be able to concentrate, to work intensively for a long time, sometimes monotonous work, to be dutiful, hardworking, creative;
  • Fluently teach ideas in writing and orally in the national language, have the basics of working with a computer, know the requirements for the preparation of legal acts and other documents;
  • Have the basics of a foreign language.
