The employee performs the following functions:

  • Maintains relations with representatives of Lithuanian art creators, art researchers, creative companies, etc. organizations that collect information about documents worth adding to the National Document Fond;
  • Accepts documents of natural persons and non-governmental organizations to supplement the National Document Fond;
  • Manages large-scale, complex fonds of representatives of various fields of art (literature, art, music, theater, etc.), cultural figures, families, relatives, collections, rearranges them, improves descriptions;
  • Compiles the accounting documents of organized, reorganized or supplemented fonds, submits them for consideration and coordination to the Committee of Document Experts of the archive;
  • Prepares articles, publications, exhibitions;
  • Prepares drafts of legal acts on the accumulation and management of fonds of individuals, collections and non-governmental organizations and other issues within the competence of the department;
  • Helps prepare answers to thematic inquiries, provides necessary information to readers and other employees;
  • Executes the orders of the archive management, head of department, accounts for the work done.

The employee must meet the following special requirements:

  • To know the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and other legal acts regulating civil service, labor relations, information protection and provision;
  • Have a good knowledge of the Law on Documents and Archives of the Republic of Lithuania, other legal acts regulating the management of documents;
  • Have a university education in the field of humanities, professional knowledge and archival work experience;
  • To know the history of Lithuanian culture, activities of culture and art, educational institutions and organizations, types and genres of art, representatives of art creators and art scientists, to constantly deepen and update their knowledge;
  • Know how to independently plan and organize your work, choose methods and solutions;
  • To be able to evaluate cultural processes, to select the most valuable and characteristic documents, to understand the responsibility for the physical and content security of collected and processed documents;
  • Fluency in teaching ideas in writing and orally in the national language, being able to work with a computer using the Microsoft Office software package, knowing the requirements for the preparation of legal acts and other documents;
  • Have the basics of a foreign language;
  • To be dutiful, hardworking, creative, able to communicate with people;
  • Constantly improve your qualifications.
